DIY gift: Mother’s Day photo planter

Make mom smile with a modern take on a timeless tradition. Create this easy DIY photo planter for Mother’s Day.

Your love for Mom continues on and on, and giving her a living plant for Mother’s Day is a great way to symbolize that. With this DIY Mother’s Day Photo Planter craft, you can put a special touch on a succulent or other herb plant to give as a gift for the special day.

Mother's Day photo planter materials you will need: flower pot, paint and paint brush, 4x4 or 4x6 prints, sponge brush and decoupage adhesive.

1. Print your images

Use the Walgreens Mobile App or web browser tool to upload favorite photos for the design. For smaller flower pots, order 4×4 Prints. Choose 4×6 Prints for larger ones.

3. Prep your pictures

Photos may not stick well to glazed and terracotta pots, but you can solve this problem by spraying the backs of your pictures with a photo-safe spray adhesive.

4. Apply your photos

Decoupage the pictures you have selected onto the flower pot. Once the decoupage is dry, brush on a layer of sealant.
