Emergency warning signs of flu sickness

Most people with the flu get better within a couple of weeks. But in some cases, complications can occur.

They can range from mild issues, like ear and sinus infections, to life-threatening problems, such as organ failure. Serious flu-related complications can happen to anyone, but people at a higher risk include: people 65 years and older, people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), pregnant women and young children.
